The Parish Council are investigating the possibility to purchase and manage a Vehicle Activated Sign (known as a VAS). These come in various forms and by investing in several poles within the village the sign can be moved from location to location. Attached is a presentation that starts our study, we are currently fact finding and would welcome feedback from the Residents at our next Parish Council meeting on the 18th October (meet at 19:00 hours for a chat and we start at 19:30). Cllr Welsh will present the study to date and this is your chance to ask questions and to have a say in the direction we take.

Thanks for taking the time to comment, agree speed bumps have multiple negative consequences, I will cover this at the meeting. Its been an interesting journey, I have learnt a lot. The VAS are now very clever, they can record all the speeds without activating to get a data set and then we can switch them on and see their effectiveness. One model even measures the speed ahead and after the sign to measure effectiveness. It would be great to see as many residents as we can at the next Parish Council meeting and if not please leave a comment below.
We would support any action that slows traffic through the village especially as it gets busier. We find VAS to be an effective reminder of speed limits. Speed watch teams are also effective but only when in situ. Speed bumps may negatively impact the vehicles of those who have to drive over them regularly, even at slower speeds.
