As outlined in the September Parish Council meeting we have investigated purchasing a Vehicle Activated Sign (known as a VAS). At the Parish Council meeting on the 18th October we discussed this further (there was some public representation at this meeting) and an update was given (see link below). We would encourage residents that have a point of view on local topics to attend our meetings and there is 15 minutes at the beginning of each meeting where you may speak for 3 minutes. This is your opportunity to make your voice heard.
It was agreed at this meeting that we would apply for a licence (from Essex highways) to implement a VAS unit at several points across the Parish. Funding was also unanimously approved to purchase mobile VAS. Cllr Graham Butland has also given his support to this initiative and we thank him for his support.
We have now identified the various sites and are working with the Highways authorities to gain the required licence, once we have this we can instruct Ringway to start the process to gain the landowners permission and install the poles, we can also then purchase the VAS unit. We have set an aggressive time line to get the first site up and running by end of December this year.
