SHALFORD PARISH COUNCIL

Members of the Council are hereby summoned to attend a meeting to be held at Shalford Village Hall on Wednesday, 15th June 2022 commencing at 7:30pm for the purpose of transacting the following business:

The meeting will be open to the public unless the Council directs otherwise.

AGENDA

  1. Apologies for Absence.

 

  1. To receive member’s declarations of interest and dispensations in items on the agenda.

Dispensations should be requested from the Clerk up to the day before the meeting.

 

  1. Minutes: Acceptance of the minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Parish Council on the 18th of May 2022

 

  1. Public participation session with respect to items on the agenda and other matters that are of mutual interest or local concern: A maximum of 15 minutes shall be allowed for public question time and it is requested each member of the public speak for a maximum of 3 minutes.

 

  1. Report from the Clerk:An update on any matters arising from the last meeting(AppendixI)

 

  1. District and/or County Councillor:
  2. To receive a report
  3. To agree to issue a letter from the Parish Council expressing local views on Councillor attendance.

 

  1. Wethersfield Airbase Proposals: To receive an update from representatives.

 

  1. Local Hero Awards: To agree a recipient.

 

  1. Ranger: To agree to a job specification and timeline for recruitment.

 

  1. Finance:
  2. To receive the financial report and approve payments (Appendix II)

 

  1. Items from Councillors to be added to the next agenda.

 

  1. Next Parish Council Meeting: The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on the 20th of July 2022

Appendix I

 

REPORT FROM THE CLERK

 

JUBILEE

The jubilee stall was successful, and all bottles were distributed.  These were well received by people.

 

PLANTERS

The planters were cleared and planted in Jubilee colours. A number of plants were damaged before the celebrations and had to be replaced.

 

LITTERPICK

The litter pick was held on Sunday the 22nd of May. Three people attended.

 

GRASS CUTTING

After multiple contacts with ECC and BDC the grass on the triangle was not cut and a contractor was engaged and helped by volunteers. A request has been made for ECC to consider a service agreement to devolve responsibility and finance of the areas to Shalford Parish Council to manage.

 

COMMUNITY SPEEDWATCH

It has been circulated that the Parish Council are looking for a community speed watch co-ordinator.

 

VACANCY

The elections office was informed of the vacancy and the notice of vacancy was issued.
