SHALFORD PARISH COUNCIL
Members of the Council are hereby summoned to attend a meeting to be held at Shalford
Village Hall on Wednesday, 16th February 2022 commencing at 7:30pm for the purpose of
transacting the following business:
The meeting will be open to the public unless the Council directs otherwise.
AGENDA
1. Apologies for Absence.
2. To receive member’s declarations of interest and dispensations in items on the
agenda.
Dispensations should be requested from the Clerk up to the day before the
meeting.
3. Minutes: Acceptance of the minutes of the Meeting of the Parish Council on the
19th of January 2022
4. Public participation session with respect to items on the agenda and other
matters that are of mutual interest or local concern: A maximum of 15 minutes
shall be allowed for public question time and it is requested each member of the
public speak for a maximum of 3 minutes.
5. Report from the Clerk: An update on any matters arising from the last meeting
(Appendix I)
6. District and/or County Councillor: To receive a report
7. Planning: To consider and make comments to Braintree District Council on the
following application/s:
22/00033/HH – Yorneys Shalford Green Shalford
Construction of two bay cart lodge with side room.
8. Wethersfield Airbase Proposals: To receive an update from the representatives.
9. Parish Magazine:
i. To agree to contribute up to £200 per month towards the costs of the
village magazine for January, February and March 2022.
ii. To agree to contribute £1000 towards the costs of the village magazine to
cover the period April-September 2022.
10. Platinum Jubilee: To receive an update.
11. Community Engagement:
i. To create a community engagement plan and identify key stakeholders.
ii. To agree a campaign plan for launching the 2022/23 grant fund.
12. Markers: To purchase 20 footpath and 10 bridleway markers at £2.28 + VAT each.
13. Finance:
i. To receive the financial report and approve payments (Appendix II)
14. Items from Councillors to be added to the next agenda.
15. Next Parish Council Meeting: The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held
on the 16th of March 2022

Appendix I
REPORT FROM THE CLERK
STREET FURNITURE
The new bench and bin have been ordered and should be delivered early March. The Parish
Ranger for Wethersfield has agreed to remove the old concrete bin and instal the
new one. The old bench still requires removal.
SIGNAGE
Wildlife signage was erected on the B1053 after Cllr Batt contacted ECC about their wildlife
support.
FIRST AID
The clerk is investigating community first aid courses to offer to parishioners.

Application for the approval of reserved matters (in respect of layout, scale,
appearance and landscaping) pursuant to outline planning permission 20/00008/OUT granted 15.01.2021 (Allowed on appeal) for Outline Application with
all matters reserved, with the exception of access for the construction of a single
dwelling house.
