We have received a request in ‘Your Comment’ section of our website from Oscar Huisman who is involved with the Overloon War Cemetery in Holland, trying to trace family or images of Maurice Anthony Cook lost during War11, displayed on our web page. https://shalford-essex-pc.gov.uk/not-forgotten
Since received the ‘Your Comments’ the following information followed:-
I am glad to hear from you and your efforts to help us. I hope you managed to look on our Facebook page about the results of our project so far.
It would be so nice to track down information about pte. Cook. Our first goal is to collect portrait/pictures. Every time we succeed it gives us goose bumps. It is so nice to see. The second goal is the background story about him.
We are going to arrange temporary pictures on the graves on 14th October, (the day Overloon was liberated), 4th May ( liberation day in Holland and Christmas eve. Then we place candles too.
Our third goal is to let people from here adopt the graves.
